As many of you know… I like to be controversial. So it won’t surprise you to hear that this is not a post to explain SEO; It’s a post to explore why it is such a hassle and if you really care about your content then you’ll stop reading my SEO tips(as well as others).

No matter what SEO hat your wear, it comes down to gaming a certain system. Most tend to focus on Google, others cater towards MSN/Yahoo, the list goes on(sort of).

The holy grail of SEO isn’t the little tricks to get your page on the top of SERP’s. The holy grail, if that’s what you want to call it, is underlying code and algorithms behind what makes those pages rank high in the first place. So why try to bother with the nuances of program code and how to game the system, instead try to realize that content really is king.

The one AND only viable key to top SERP’s is SOLID CONTENT. I’m not saying quit all your link exchanges and affiliate programs, I’m saying focus on your content and the rest will come naturally. Natural inbound links because your content is great, natural social bookmarking because your content is great, natural everything.

Okay I lied, I’m definately saying worry about NOTHING other than your content.

Why explain how to write solid content when so many others can do it better? That’s just the tip of the iceburg.

Personal Commitment:

I recently had a “eureka” moment; well it’s more in trial mode at this point. I’ve been guilty of utilizing text link ads, some google adwords, directories, and a few affiliate programs here and there. To generate buzz about this blog. No longer… I want to be natural. It’s a personal choice, but the only money I want to make with bloggercamp is through direct sales of advertising blocks. The only traffic I want is natural.

Why? “The only traffic I want is natural”… if people come to your blog on their own accord, then that whole “good content” thing has obviously paid off. They were looking for you, and you became the source. Pat yourself on the back… that’s what I’m going to do. Anyone else with me? Of course not.

• To never subject myself to posting weak content(ever again)
• To refuse non direct sales of advertising(google, tla, etc) to bloggercamp.
